Oswald Rodrigo Pereira is a Polish-Portuguese mountain climber, film director, cinematographer, and public speaker. He spent 12 years as a television reporter, covering politics, economics, and sports. His career turned pivotal when he joined a Polish winter expedition to K2 as a TV correspondent. Inspired by the experience, he left journalism to pursue his passion for storytelling as an independent filmmaker, focusing on the emotional journeys of climbers in the Himalayas.

Over the past seven years, Oswald Rodrigo Pereira has participated in ten expeditions, including two winter attempts on K2. He has summited Broad Peak, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga, without supplementary oxygen or the personal support of Sherpas.

During his descent from Broad Peak, Oswald Rodrigo Pereira assisted in a rescue operation for a climber who had fallen on the Chinese side of the ridge. In the spring of 2023, after summiting Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, he and his climbing partner, Bartek Ziemski, took part in the high-altitude rescue of 84-year-old Spanish climber Carlos Soria.

Joining Forces

Over the past two years, Oswald Rodrigo Pereira has joined forces with Bartek Ziemski to form an exceptional duo. The duo has thus far climbed eight thousand meters in a sports style: Bartek skis down the mountains while Oswald documents their journey on film.

Oswald Rodrigo Pereira saw his latest documentary, The Silent Escape, premiere in South Korea in October 2023. It has since screened in more than 20 countries worldwide, earning awards on both national and international levels.
