Luc Besson is a celebrated French director, screenwriter, and producer with over 20 feature films to his name. Eight of these rank among the top 100 highest-grossing French films of all time. His work has earned over $4 billion at the global box office.
In 2000, Besson was named the youngest-ever President of the Jury at the Cannes International Film Festival. He has chaired other leading festivals in Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, Hainan, and Moscow. His international influence was recognised when he was named International Producer of the Year by The Hollywood Reporter in 2017. He has also received César, BAFTA, and Lumière Awards.
Champion of French Cinema, Besson founded EuropaCorp in 2000 to produce world-class films and promote French talent on the global stage. In 2012, he launched Cité du Cinéma, a creative hub dedicated to innovation and collaboration in film.
